SHORT: Follow Ocotlán de Morelos artist, Oliver Mijongas Amador and his team as they harvest, clean and carve their radishes into a winning display for the 126th Night of the Radishes in Oaxaca de Juárez, Oaxaca, Mexico. 

LONG: Four days before the Night of the Radish, artisans, foresters and politicians gathered for the radish harvest near the Tequio forest in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán. Hundreds of thousands of visitors and residents crowd the Oaxaca de Juarez Zócalo every December 23 waiting for hours to view the Night of the Radish competition, which is one of the oldest traditions in Oaxaca. The documentary follows one of these “radish artisans”, Oliver Milangos Amador, as he and his friends harvest, wash, carve and win the Night of the Radishes “Open Category” in 2023.

Cientos de miles de visitantes y residentes abarrotan el Zócalo Oaxaca de Juárez cada 23 de diciembre esperando durante horas para ver la competencia de la Noche del Rábano, que es una de las tradiciones más antiguas de Oaxaca. El documental sigue a uno de estos “artesanos del rábano”, Oliver Milangos Amador, mientras él y sus amigos cosechan, lavan, tallan y ganan la Noche del Rábano en 2023.
