Four days before the Night of the Radishes, artisans, foresters and politicians gathered for the radish harvest near the Tequio forest in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, Oaxaca. Hundreds of thousands of visitors and residents crowd the Zócalo every December 23 waiting in line for hours to view the Night of the Radishes competition, which is one of the oldest traditions in Oaxaca de Juárez. The documentary follows one of the “radish artisans”, Oliver Milangos Amador and his team, through the first day of an intense four days of work to build a sculpture made of radishes. This is from their first day of work in the fields that are planted by city workers, but are harvested by each participatant on the 19th of December.

Cuatro días antes de la Noche del Rábanos, artesanos, forestales y políticos se reúnen para la cosecha de los rábanos cerca del bosque de Tequio en Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán. Cientos de miles de visitantes y residentes abarrotan el Zócalo cada 23 de diciembre esperando durante horas para ver la competencia de la Noche del Rábanos, que es una de las tradiciones más antiguas de Oaxaca de Juárez. El documental sigue a uno de estos “artesanos del rábano”, Oliver Milangos Amador y su equipo a través de estos 4 días de trabajo. Este segmento es del primer día mientras cosechan sus rábanos.
